Our collaborative approach, combined with proven processes, people, and equipment, helps you do what you do... better.
We calender tire cord, nylon, monofilament nylon, aramid, fiberglass, polyester in both PET and PEN, square woven, and a range of industrial textiles. If your application calls for a material not on that list, send us the specification and we will tell you whether it runs on our line.
Our maximum finished calendered fabric width is 59.0 inches and our minimum is 30.0 inches. Product tolerances are set to customer requirements, and other parameters are available on request. Full specifications are on our textile calendering page.
We run a 45-degree four-roll inclined Z calender. The line includes individual roll drive motors for a wide range of friction ratios, cross-axis control on rolls one and four, automatic temperature control on each roll, hydraulic roll bending, and a nuclear mass measuring system with automatic gauge control. A heating drum tower conditions incoming textiles and a cooling drum tower stabilizes tack levels on the finished material.
No. We calender textile reinforcement only. If your application requires steel cord, we can often discuss whether a textile substrate such as aramid or fiberglass would meet the same performance requirement, since both offer high modulus and low creep without the corrosion and adhesion considerations that come with steel.
We can likely help make determinations regarding textile, compound, and specifications based on information that you provide regarding application, needs, etc.
Yes. We produce non-reinforced gum calendered rubber sheet with uniform gauge and surface finish, which suits applications requiring flexibility and resilience such as gaskets and seals. Details are on our non-reinforced gum calendering page.
Yes. We slit calendered goods to specified widths and can supply them with a poly backer. See slit rubber goods for more.
We mix NR, SBR, and BR, along with nitrile, halobutyl, EPDM, polyisoprene, and neoprene. Other polymers are available on request. Mixing is computer controlled with a computer controlled weighing system, and our lab runs MDR, Mooney, tensile, durometer, and rebound testing. More detail is on our rubber mixing page.
No. We mix black compounds only and do not run non-black formulations. This is a deliberate limitation that keeps our lines free of contamination risk and protects compound consistency for every customer we serve.
We supply mixed compound in strips and slabs, with high-capacity drying and custom packaging available to suit your handling and storage requirements.
Yes, and this is one of the more common ways projects start with us. Tell us the application, the operating environment, the loads involved, and the performance you need, and our team can help determine the right textile, compound, and calendering specification. We develop technical designs for textiles, compounds, and calendered materials to meet customer specifications.
Yes. We produce bladders used in the tire building process, and we are our own customer for them, which means the same bladders running in our plant are the ones we supply. See our bladders page.
Yes. We wind beads to exacting consistency and performance standards. More on our wound beads page.
Yes. We manufacture private label tires that carry your brand, drawing on more than 65 years of tire manufacturing experience rooted in motorsports.
The more you can share up front, the faster we can respond. Useful details include the finished part function and service environment, operating temperature, load direction and magnitude, target gauge and thickness tolerance, required width, whether the material will be slit downstream, your compound or the performance requirements driving it, adhesion criteria if the part is reinforced, and expected annual volume. If you do not have all of it, send what you have and we will work through the rest with you.
No. We are not able to take on small-quantity custom tire runs. Volumes would generally need to reach at least several hundred tires before we could consider a project. For a set of tires for a personal vehicle, Hoosier Racing Tire may have a product that fits your application.
We supply calendered goods, mixed compounds, and rubber components to customers across tire manufacturing, industrial belting, hose, seals and gaskets, and a range of OEM applications. Our racing heritage means we are accustomed to specifications where performance tolerance is tight and failure is not an option.
Contact us with your application and requirements, or book a discovery call. We will review the request with our technical team and follow up with questions or a path forward. You can also read about the Hoosier difference to understand how we approach new programs.
